A lesson which covers a number of health and social care job roles and how they contribute to the response to Coronavirus. I have planned this to teach to the students who will be remaining in school during the closures but it could also be set as a task for students who are at the start of their health and social care study. The lesson therefore doesn’t meet a scheme of learning but will be a good discussion opportunity. Lessons are differentiated by outcome and may need further differentiation by resource depending on your student group. I have tried to keep it simple at this point so that it can be adapted to different year groups.

Practice assessment for component three of the new tech award level 1/2. This is questions based on part A and B of component 3. Case study is Ken, a recently divorced man. Questions include reading data for measurable and lifestyle data.

Full unit of work for unit 7: promoting safe practice. This package includes all power points and structures required for students to complete the unit. Lessons include pre-planned differentiated questions to use as mini plenaries. The power points also include small sections of modeled work to demonstrate the criteria. 14 lesson power points in total. Coursework structures are set out in a way that allow students to clearly see how the criteria for pass, merit and distinction is achieved.

Lesson covering play and social development for unit 1 of the BTEC National in Health and Social Care. The lesson could easily be adapted to be used in the Tech Award, Level 2, component 1. Revision lesson for the component 3 exam. This session covers lifestyle data and how to interpret the effects. The lesson ends with an application task which shows students how to effectively answer Question 3 (analyzing data question). A full practice exam paper for BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care Component 3. This case study is based on Flora, an elderly woman living with relatives following a stroke. All 6 questions are planned base on the case study and reflect those that are asked in the exams. Allow your students to practice a greater range of potential exam questions.

Resource booklet for Component 3 Learning Aim A of the new 2022 specification. Please note this booklet is the first in a series and covers Physical, Lifestyle and Social factors from learning aim A. Other factors will be covered in subsequent booklets to reduce cognitive load. I have also found that students prefer a smaller booklet. Booklet covers content, example exam questions, recall activities and homework tasks. 67 pages in total.

This is a Power Point that can be used to complete a ‘walking, talking mock’ with your students. It should be used alongside the exam paper and mark scheme that can be found on the Edexcel website. Questions and activities are planned out to support student recall. Some answers are modeled to promote class discussion around skills.

Many schools are setting work for students to complete over the summer holidays. This workbook will introduce students starting their level 2 study to some key concepts. The workbook has three tasks; PIES development, life events and nature vs nurture. For students who have already studied the course for a year, Homework Book 2 may be more suitable.

This would be perfect to set for your year 12s or for year 11s that are going to be studying sociology with you next year.
